Hard to Recycle Materials & Clothing Swap

April 18-21, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.  The Kendeda Building
Donate electrons, hard to recycle items, or clean clothes that you no longer want or wear.at The Kendeda Building. that you no longer want or wear.Visit the clothing swap shop to pick up free fashionable second hand trends.

 

Clough Commons Waste Audit

April 19, 10 a.m.-noon  near Tech Green 
Join the Office of Solid Waste Management & Recycling and the Student Government Association Sustainability Committee in conducting a waste audit of the Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons. Learn about the make-up of the building’s waste stream and see the impact of how recycling and composting services support Georgia Tech’s goal to achieve Zero Waste!

 

Group Bike Ride

April 19, 5:30 p.m.  Campus Recreation Center (CRC)
Check in will begin at 5:30 pm and the ride will leave at 6:30 pm from the front of the CRC. Helmets are strongly encouraged.Free helmets are available through the Ride Smart Bike/Scooter Safety Class or can be purchase from the Parking and Transportation's customer service center in Tech Square.Register here, free of charge!

Earth Day Celebration Bird Walk

April 20, 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m.  The Kendeda Building 
Join us for a bird walk and learn about the urban domiciles of the region’s birds. You'll pair up with an expert leader to observe birds on Georgia Tech’s campus. This event is a partnered collaboration between Georgia Tech, via The Kendeda Building, and Georgia Audubon. Register Here!

Campus Sustainability Fair 

April 20, 10 a.m.-2:00 p.m.  The Kendeda Building
Sustainability takes a village! See and learn about what Georgia Tech’s sustainability organizations and departments are doing to advance sustainability and how you can get involved! To the view list of tabling organizations click here.

Featuring second-hand t-shirt screening printing of the 2022 Earth Day Design, King of Pops with Hefty Energy Bag wrapper recycling, and highlighting the clothing swap, Kendeda Revolving Closet and Hard to Recycle Drop-off! Bring your own 100% cotton shirt, sweatshirt or bag for screen printing, items must be used to promote reuse, don't go buy something new!

 

Equity and Sustainability Tour

April 21, 11 a.m.-noon  North Avenue Apartments Roundabout

Join the Center for Serve-Learn-Sustain for a tour of sites relating to equity and social sustainability on and around Georgia Tech's campus! This tour will discuss historical points relating to equity as well as current efforts by the Institute and student groups to further equity and social sustainability at Tech. Register here!

 

Tree Planting Volunteer Event 

April 21, 3 p.m.-5 p.m.  Krone Engineered Biosystems Building/Tree Nursery 
This year we will be replanting the tree nursery to house trees until they are ready to be planted around campus. Sign up for your slot!

 

Earth Week 'T' Scavenger Hunt

April 18-22, ongoing  The Kendeda Building and EcoCommons.
Every day during the week, clues will be posted online for the location of wooden letter T’s made of scrap wood from the construction of The Kendeda Building. Lucky 'T' finders will receive an invite to join us on April 22, 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. for and "Earth Day Paint & Chill" celebration.
