Elisabetta Matsumoto, an assistant professor in the School of Physics, is a 2020 Cotrell Scholar thanks to her research on the mathematics and physics hidden in the knots and weaves of knitting.

Valerie Montgomery Rice (BS Chemistry '83), the first woman selected to be president of Morehouse School of Medicine, is one of eight Georgia Tech alumni and friends to be chosen as a 2020 White and Gold Honors recipient, and is the recipient of the 2020 Dean Griffin Community Service Award.
