Congratulations Graduates

Master’s graduates are invited to join us for a College of Sciences Master’s Graduation Celebration. Graduates may invite four guests each for our intimate ceremony where master’s graduates will be recognized individually by Susan Lozier, dean of the College of Sciences and Betsy Middleton and John Clark Sutherland Chair. The festivities will conclude with a reception for graduates, guests, and faculty representatives.

Graduation Celebration Speaker

 

Frank Ambrosio, M.S. BI 2019

A bioinformatics scientist and educator with a background in genomics, public health, and high-performance computing, Ambrosio earned his undergraduate degree from Binghamton University and his master’s in bioinformatics from Georgia Tech. He recently joined Stony Brook University as a computational scientist.

Over the past several years, Frank has worked in a range of settings — from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to the biotech startup space — supporting projects in genomics, informatics, and public health. He’s especially interested in making science more accessible through avenues including open-source tools, teaching, or building communities around shared knowledge.

Frank is a proud product of state schools and a strong supporter of public education. He believes deeply in the mission of public universities, and the opportunities they create for people from all walks of life.
